Lita Rossana Ford often referred to as Lita Ford is a British-born American guitarist vocalist and songwriter who served as the lead guitarist in the all-girl hard rock group The Runaways in the late 1970s.Their punkish sound and rebellious lyrics helped them get noticed within the world of rock. Although the band was not success in the United States, it gained enormous popularity overseas. Ford had a long and successful career as a solo heavy metal artist after the group split up in 1979. Her first solo release was 'Dancin' On the Edge and was followed by the album Out for Blood. Ford failed to make any success with either record and disappeared from the world of rock for around 10 years. The year was 1988, when she released her hit album "Lita". The single 'Kiss Me Deadly and the ballad "Close My Eyes Forever' were both big hits. However, the success of her career was not lasting and over the course of several years, she was absent. The resurgence of her career came with release of "Black" from 1995 and "Wicked Wonderland", almost fifteen years later. The year 2016 brought the release of her latest album of studio work "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend Award.
